Beware of Lumber Liquidators!!!

We are extremely dissatisfied with our experience with Lumber Liquidators, a flooring company that does a lot of advertising and does business in Maryland (not sure about other states). The wood they sold us is defective. They tried to get away with installing it anyway. We had to wait almost a week for them to come and inspect it before they acknowledged there was a problem. They then tried different wood, which was also defective. The process took another week. They tried two different teams of their installers. Their installers blamed the store and the store blamed the installers. We complained to the store, but they said they can't help us and we'd have to go through corporate, located in Virginia. We had to wait about another week until corporate acknowledged there was a problem. They then transferred our file to another department, their claims department. It took almost another week for that person to begin working with us. The solutions that person came up with were extremely unfair. When we weren't willing to agree to their unfair terms for working this out they stopped helping us, told us the file was now transferred to their legal department, and stopped responding to our emails and phone calls. Now it's been several more days and we can't get hold of anyone, and they won't even give us the contact information for their legal department! In the meantime, it's been almost a month since the problems started and there is no end in sight! Their installers left our house in a terrible mess, with their trash and empty boxes everywhere. Moreover, they obviously haven't finished the job and we have hallways and rooms that are half-done. As a result, we have very uneven walkways in the house, causing a major safety hazard. We have emailed them pictures, but they just don't even respond to us at all!

I have never ever witnessed such a tough time dealing with a company in my life! This process has been an absolute nightmare! Please consider this before you choose to deal with this Company! I do not want anyone to have to go through what we're going through now. We have spent almost $12,000 but yet have nothing but defective, uneven and dangerous wood in our house.

Email me at traphaely7@yahoo.com if you want to get more information from me about this experience. Again, please learn from our experience and do not make the same mistake we did!

  1. The installers didn't bother to straighten things up before they left? I realize you're frustration, but...that is pretty bad.

I don't understand the mentality of LL. These complaints are not new. Why they can't come to grips and do things right is beyond me. When I sold floors I couldn't sleep at night if I had one unhappy customer. They have hundreds.
